Use percentages consistently and confirm that weights sum to the grading scheme used by your institution.
Limitations
The calculator does not apply school-specific rounding, grade replacement, extra credit, or pass/fail policies unless the component exposes them.
Method
Each assessment score is multiplied by its weight and the weighted contributions are added. With weights totaling 100%, this is the current course percentage. Any projection for a remaining assessment assumes the listed weights describe the full grading scheme.
Example
A 90% exam worth 40% contributes 36 points. An 80% project worth 30% contributes 24, and a 75% assignment worth 30% contributes 22.5. The weighted result is 82.5%.
Interpretation
Compare the result with your institution's letter-grade thresholds. A high score on a low-weight task may have little impact, while a small final-exam change can move the total substantially.
Common questions
Must weights total 100%?
They should for a complete course result. Check the component's normalization behavior if they do not.
Can I enter points?
Convert earned points to a percentage unless the form explicitly accepts earned and possible points.
